Aside from continuing to periodically broadcast radio shows (which are all archived at www.youngecho.co.uk), we have been enjoying some interest from the music world. Ramp (the record label) have contacted us and as a result Young Echo will be releasing a compilation LP with them, featuring tracks from each of the artists involved in our collective. More information on that soon.

Mary Anne Hobbs invited us to produce a mix for her new radio show on XFM. Her Breezeblock radio show provided many hours of entertainment and inspiration, so I was particularly pleased that she approached us. You can hear our mix for XFM here:

There is also a short piece in this month’s issue of the Wire magazine (June 2012). Again, an honour to be included in this publication.

Watch out for a set by some of us at the Boiler Room this coming week. I will post the link to the video on this site.

I wrote the soundtrack for a film by my dad, Mark Kidel, last year. There’s a web clip featuring one of my pieces for the film here:

The film was aired in the UK on the BBC in late 2011 and won an award for the Best Film in the Design Arts at the Festival international du film sur l’art in Montréal (FIFA) in April 2012.
